‚iridescent‘, a work created whilst travelling across Spain. Here are a few notes, jotted down on the go…
On the road, traveling… You look good, different… and yet still you. Another you from your spectrum. The sky becomes overwhelming, suddenly overpowering. His facial expression hints at the next few hours, the next few nights, even though you don’t yet know where and how you will spend them.
Writing on the road, while traveling, is an encounter with another me from my spectrum. Nowhere permanently, nowhere at home. Belonging nowhere and yet: people read my face as I read the sky. Sometimes. If someone really meets me. Like the storm that hit me and took me violently last night. Innocent, yet elemental.
Did it change me, did you change me when we came tonight? Give me more of myself so that I can grasp it, or does grasping it already mean its opposite? Maybe I should cry instead, to let this feeling flow on forever and transform it into a rhythm, maybe jazz? The sky is dark and full of clouds. Check in. Check out. Get in, get out. A familiar sound. The sound of being on the move, of traveling, of burning—an iridescent exchange of presence and self. “…// and she leaves you and me unadulterated // such a transformation // without losing ourselves. //”
